Yesterday Perennial said goodbye to a good friend and colleague. Our Pasrty Guy Chris left us for warmer pastures with a restaurant group in Arizona. His last day was Thursday, but he came back for a quick Champagne toast with the entire staff before service. The kitchen turned off their burners and halted prep for a busy Friday night to raise a glass to a good friend.

Of course I’m going to miss Chris, but the great thing about being a chef is no one ever really leaves. Hey it may sound cheesy, but we tend to be a knit group. Sure people change jobs, but in our work you get to know someone very quickly. You get to see someone’s creativity and passion at work just by them showing up for their job.

Best of luck in AZ Chris; Chicago and Perennial will miss you!!
